We are seeking a Senior Urban Planner to join our dynamic team in Madrid, Spain. As a leader of our urban development department, you will be deeply involved in the design and coordination of masterplans at multiple scales, through innovative and sustainable urban planning initiatives.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive urban planning strategies aligned with Riyadh's long-term vision and goals
  • Lead and manage a team of urban planners, architects, and other professionals in the planning department
  • Oversee large-scale urban development projects from conception to completion
  • Collaborate with government agencies, private sector stakeholders to ensure inclusive and sustainable urban growth
  • Analyze complex data and trends to inform decision-making and policy recommendations
  • Develop and implement innovative smart city initiatives to enhance urban living and sustainability
  • Ensure compliance with local and national urban planning regulations and environmental standards
  • Present plans, proposals, and recommendations
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in urban planning and sustainable development
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field
  • Professional certification in urban planning is preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in urban planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale urban development projects
  • Extensive knowledge of sustainable urban development practices and smart city initiatives
  • Strong design skills with the ability to translate concepts into clear, high-quality plans and visuals.
  • Proficiency in CAD and Adobe applications is required, while experience or familiarity with Revit and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) as well as other relevant urban planning toolswill be considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience in policy development and implementation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • In-depth understanding of Saudi Arabian urban development regulations and policies will be considered an advantage.
  • Expertise in transportation planning and environmental conservation within an urban context
  • Visionary leadership style with a commitment to innovation and sustainable urban growth
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable
