The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the Technology Vision and defining and prioritising the team’s backlog, in order that the team delivers products and applications efficiently and accurately against business priorities, and in line with the wider technical strategy.

Job Description:

Merkury for Media launched in 2024 as a suite of data-driven media products powered by Merkury’s cookieless identity from Merkle. The suite includes Planning, Activation, and Measurement, providing advertisers with advanced targeting and measurement solutions.

This role leads the Activation product line, overseeing the Demand-Side Platform (DSP), contextual targeting solutions, and SaaS offerings within the Merkury for Media US portfolio.

As Senior Director of Product Management, Activation, you will define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for media activation products in the United States. You will work closely with other product portfolio leaders, business leaders, engineering teams, and cross-functional partners around the world to drive product development, commercialization, and market adoption in the US.

We are looking for a product leader with a deep understanding of programmatic advertising, identity resolution, and ad tech ecosystems. This person should be able to balance long-term strategy with agile execution to build market-leading solutions.

Responsibilities:

Product Leadership & Strategy

  • You will define and own the roadmap for Merkury’s activation products, aligning with business goals and market needs.
  • You will identify emerging industry trends, particularly in cookieless advertising and privacy-first media buying, to drive competitive differentiation.
  • You will manage a prioritization framework for new product features, balancing potential market impact and technical effort.

Execution & Delivery

  • You will lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
  • You will partner with engineering and project management teams to define technical requirements and oversee agile development processes (participation in SCRUM ceremonies).
  • You will drive data-driven decision-making, leveraging market research, client insights, and performance analytics to optimize product performance.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • You will serve as a product leader for Activation, working closely with executive stakeholders, engineering, data science, sales, and marketing teams.
  • You will influence go-to-market strategies to maximize product adoption and commercial success.
  • You will establish client and industry feedback loops to ensure continuous product evolution and innovation.

Commercial Impact & Customer Success

  • You will drive activation product adoption across internal teams, agency partners, and enterprise clients.
  • You will define and track success metrics (e.g., adoption rates, revenue impact, retention) to measure product effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Industry Expertise(5-8 years)

  • Deep experience in programmatic advertising with a strong understanding of DSPs, RTB, identity resolution, and ad tech platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of data-driven advertising, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and the cookieless future.

Product Management(3+ years)

  • Proven experience leading enterprise-scale product roadmaps from ideation to market execution in a product management framework.
  • Expertise in building, launching, and scaling programmatic advertising solutions.
  • Experience working with agile development teams and technical leadership.

Technical Thinking

  • Technical fluency in programmatic advertising and ad tech ecosystems, with the ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical audiences.

Location:This role is based in Boulder, CO, with remote work options for qualified candidates.

The annual base salary range for this position is $113,000 - $182,850. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
