Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Assistant to support a U.S. personal injury law firm from the Philippines. In this role, you will be responsible for managing technical litigation support tasks, assisting attorneys with case preparation, and ensuring all legal processes are executed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Drafting and Management: Prepare, format, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and other litigation-related documents in compliance with court rules and legal standards.
- Case Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations; summarize findings; and provide actionable insights to attorneys to support case strategy.
- Discovery and Evidence Management: Assist with organizing, indexing, and managing discovery materials, medical records, and evidence, ensuring completeness and proper documentation.
- Court Filing and Compliance: Coordinate e-filing and physical filing of legal documents with courts; track deadlines, statutes of limitations, and court-mandated timelines to maintain compliance.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain professional communication with clients, medical providers, and other relevant parties to collect required information and keep stakeholders informed.
- Litigation Support and Issue Resolution: Identify procedural issues, missing documentation, or discrepancies in case files, and collaborate with attorneys to resolve them efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting litigation, preferably in personal injury or civil law within U.S. law firms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and legal case management systems (e.g., Clio, Filevine, or similar).
- Strong understanding of U.S. civil litigation procedures, court rules, and filing requirements.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented team member with a focus on accuracy and procedural compliance.
