  • Do you believe that great marketing is about more than running ads and interrupting people?
  • Do you want to help more students and parents benefit from a service that makes a difference?
  • Are you looking for the opportunity to show your company, its customers, and yourself what you’re capable of as a marketer?
If so, you might be the next Marketing Associate at Collegewise!

First, a quick introduction

Collegewise believes that the college admissions process has spun out of control for high school students and their parents. Too much anxiety and confusion. Too much obsession with prestigious colleges. Too little appreciation for the wonderful educations and experiences waiting at so many schools beyond just the famous ones. And we’re out to change all of that. Together, we’ve built the nation’s largest college counseling organization with more than 100 highly trained counselors injecting guidance, perspective, and occasional cheerleading into the admissions process for the families who join our programs. Since 1999, we’ve helped over 28,000 A-students, C-students, and everyone in between find, apply to, and attend the right colleges for them.

How We Work

Here’s a short video to help you learn about our culture and the amazing people we work with.

What You’ll Do

As Marketing Associate at Collegewise, you’ll make sure the good information about college admissions finds the students and families who need it, wherever they might be looking. Here’s a snapshot of what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Managing marketing campaigns: You’ll run marketing campaigns, look for places we can improve, brainstorm new ideas with the team, and develop strategies to increase lead volume and conversions. You’ll also analyze campaign performance and provide actionable insights to optimize results.
  • Creating engaging (and pretty!) content: Design ad creatives, draft blog posts, and create content for emails, social media posts, and ebooks.
  • Planning and Hosting In-Person Events and Webinars: Organize and host in-person and virtual events with fellow Wisers,
  • Supporting the marketing strategy: You’ll collaborate with the marketing team to develop and refine strategies for blogs, email campaigns, social media, PR, and more.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Tech-Savvy: You have some experience with marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and analytics.
  • Events: You enjoy planning and hosting events.
  • Self-Starter: You are a motivated self-starter, with an ability to balance creative and tactical work.
  • Flexible: You are available to work flexible hours and some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Collaborative: You’re a team player who enjoys working with others to achieve common goals.
  • Organized: You’re a master of organization and can juggle multiple tasks and projects with ease.
  • Eager to Learn: You don’t have to know everything (no one does!), but you have to be willing to jump in and learn. You’re adaptable and ready to tackle new challenges head-on.

Salary, Start Date, and Location

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $23-25 and room for future growth both in both pay and responsibility. We also offer a full suite of benefits that includes vacation time, summer work hours, paid parental leave, and a robust insurance plan. We’ve worked hard to build a company that allows each of us to bring our best self to work without sacrificing our best life at home.

We’d like our new Marketing Associate to start as soon as possible, but we can adjust the start date to accommodate the right person. We’re comfortable with the person in this role working remotely, but the ideal candidate will be based in the US or Canada.

We want to hear from you

If you’re excited about this opportunity but unsure if you’re the right fit, we hope you’ll take a shot. There is no such thing as a perfect applicant (or a perfect job, for that matter). And we promise to give a fair and thorough read to every applicant who takes the time to submit a thoughtful application to us.

We also understand that the more we embrace diversity of age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity, and perspective, the stronger the company we’ll be able to build together. Creating an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work is the right thing to do. And we hope you’re excited to embrace and contribute to our efforts.

How to Apply

If your interest is piqued, please start by writing us a cover letter that tells your story. What role has education played in your life? What brought you to this place seeking this role? What excites you about this opportunity?

We really enjoy working with people who are clear thinkers and equally clear communicators. And you’re more interesting than a generic “insert-name-of-company-here” letter. So please be yourself and use your letter to help us get to know the real you. You might also consider checking out our five tips for job-seekers.

Then submit your application. When you paste your cover letter into the text box, your formatting will hold up when we see it (but if it doesn’t, we’ll blame the text box, not you).

Questions?

Feel free to email us at jobs@collegewise.com (please no phone calls). We promise to respond to you quickly.

Thanks for reading our post. We’d love to hear from you, but if we don’t, we hope you find the perfect professional fit someplace else.

For many families, the college admissions process is a source of significant stress, confusion, and anxiety. Collegewise was founded to change that narrative, transforming what is often a daunting experience into a journey of excitement and self-discovery for students and their parents. Our customers, high school students and their families, are navigating an increasingly complex and competitive higher education landscape. They face the challenge of identifying the right-fit colleges, crafting compelling applications that stand out, and managing the entire process without becoming overwhelmed. We address this by providing expert, one-on-one guidance from experienced counselors, many of whom are former admissions officers. This inside perspective allows us to demystify the process and offer strategic advice that truly makes a difference. Our approach is built on the belief that getting into college shouldn't come at the expense of a student's well-being or a family's peace of mind.

We empower students to take ownership of their college journey. Instead of focusing solely on rankings, we help students discover schools where they will thrive academically, socially, and personally. Our services are designed to alleviate the pressure on parents, as our counselors manage the timeline and details, ensuring that students complete their applications thoughtfully and on time. We offer a comprehensive suite of tools, including academic and extracurricular strategy, essay development, test preparation, and interview coaching. By partnering with organizations like Reach Higher, Michelle Obama's education initiative, and offering a wealth of free resources—from in-depth guides to webinars—we aim to make quality admissions advice accessible to a broader audience. Ultimately, our goal is to see students not just get accepted to college, but to arrive on campus confident, prepared, and excited for the future they have chosen. We've guided over 30,000 students to successful outcomes, and our greatest measure of success is seeing them flourish in environments that are a genuine match for their talents and aspirations.
