With a global network of scientific and technological experts, BCI is at the vanguard of innovation, facilitating crucial technology transfers to forge a sustainable and clean future for the world. The institute recognizes that while developments in Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT), particularly blockchain, offer significant potential in addressing global sustainability challenges, a critical policy evidence gap persists among state and non-state institutions within the climate change policy community. BCI actively addresses this gap by enabling the global transfer of these vital technologies. Through the strategic aggregation and dissemination of new knowledge, BCI's international network empowers both governmental and non-governmental climate actions with targeted technological interventions, driving impactful change. The core mission is to catalyze positive change by elevating awareness within the international climate change policy community regarding the immense potential of blockchain technology to substantially enhance climate actions through precise and effective technological solutions.

BCI's vision extends to the widespread deployment of blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) in both state and non-state climate sustainability efforts. This forward-thinking approach underscores the institute's commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into the fabric of climate action. The organization functions as a 'super-connector' platform, creating a collaborative environment where policymakers, corporate leaders, and blockchain innovators can experiment with and adopt the most promising concepts. This unique ecosystem fosters innovation and accelerates the practical application of technology to solve pressing climate issues. The Blockchain & Climate Institute is structured to combine the strategic foresight of a think-and-do tank, the proactive stance of an advocacy group, and the collaborative spirit of a chamber of commerce, all driven by a volunteer-led ethos. This multifaceted approach allows BCI to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and drive comprehensive solutions for a decentralized climate economy in the blockchain era, ultimately aiming to make a significant and lasting impact on global climate governance and sustainability.
