Working pattern: 50 percent on the road and 50 percent working from home, with the freedom to manage your own diary. Overnight stays may be required and accommodation can be provided.

Join Biffa as a Project Engineer and help deliver engineering projects that run safely, on time, and on budget. You’ll provide technical expertise, coordinate activities, and support the senior management team at Redcar, focusing on uptime, reliability, and smooth day-to-day operations.
Your core responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects at Biffa.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and propose solutions to keep projects on track.
- Provide technical expertise, review drawings, specifications, and documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure all work meets health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and handover information.
- Communicate progress and technical updates clearly to stakeholders and senior management.
- Contribute to uptime, reliability, and efficiency across site operations.
Requirements
Our essential requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline)
- Full, current driving licence
- Understanding of engineering drawings and principles
- Management of process and lean improvement projects
- The following job titles would be considered relevant to this role and include, but are not limited to, Project Engineer, Junior Project Engineer, Engineering Project Coordinator, Project Manager (Engineering), Capital Projects Engineer, Manufacturing Project Engineer, and Process Project Engineer.
