What began in 2013 as Broker Genius, a venture started by Sam Sherman with just a couple of employees in Far Rockaway, New York, has evolved into a powerhouse in the ticket resale industry. The initial vision was born from Sherman's firsthand experience in the secondary ticket market, where he identified a critical gap: the lack of sophisticated pricing automation technology. This realization sparked the creation of a platform designed to empower ticket brokers by maximizing their revenue through fully-automated pricing. In its early days, the company experienced rapid, organic growth, a testament to achieving an early product-market fit. The initial software, AutoPricer, allowed brokers to either license the technology and manage their own pricing or outsource it entirely to a team of expert analysts.
The company's trajectory took a significant leap forward in 2020 with the strategic merger of Broker Genius and Seat Scouts. This union combined industry-leading dynamic pricing automation with powerful ticket distribution technology, setting the stage for a more comprehensive solution. To solidify this unification and present a single, powerful platform to the market, the company was officially rebranded as Automatiq in 2022. Since this transformation, Automatiq has expanded its global team to over 125 members and has had a monumental impact on the industry. The platform has priced over $3.5 billion in ticket inventory, successfully delivered more than 10.5 million tickets, and now supports over 500 customers who collectively generate more than $4 billion in annual sales. Automatiq's mission remains steadfast: to automate the entire ticket lifecycle with a focus on smarter pricing, seamless distribution, and data-driven results, ensuring their clients always stay ahead in a dynamic and fast-paced market.
