Senior Product Manager, Product Operations


Job description

This is a multi-faceted role for someone passionate about the art and science of product management and loves to collaborate, share and evolve best practices and professional development. You will own, take the lead on implementing and continually enhance tools and processes that help us stay organized, listen to customers, understand the market, make decisions, and communicate about product vision, strategy, and features.
You will have the opportunity to be the founding member of the Product Operations team, design the systems, and define the role, reporting directly to the VP of Product.


  • Process
    • Own and evolve product planning processes that align product investments with customer and business needs
    • Own product launch process to ensure that customer-facing teams are ready with the information and processes required to support new products
    • Define structure, content and cadence required for product reviews, retrospectives and standardize our data-driven product prioritization framework and process
    • Develop a clear and consistent system to understand the impact of our product efforts including: defining product performance metrics, a system for reporting on them and gathering customer feedback
    • Implement standard processes for internal product evangelism
    • Help eliminate friction within the product experimentation process and create processes to drive efficiency
  • Tools
    • Own and evolve the system for storing market and customer signals that come into the company every day across all our teams. You will make the information accessible and frictionless to capture as much signal as possible. Analyzing the data needs to be quick and easy, so anyone can use it to inform prioritization. 
    • Manage the tools for consistently communicating product roadmaps and prioritization, ensuring it’s always is up-to-date and allows for self-service
    • Organize and simplify how we store and communicate about research, project proposals, experiments, UI designs, product requirements
    • Create and maintain product team resources including process docs, templates, product area mapping etc.
    • Be the customer of the product toolchain, perform analysis of market, competitors, pipeline, wins, churn, and product gaps, then translate findings into actionable recommendations and communications to help shape product strategy
  • Communication
    • Maintain a high-impact communication system that ensures key stakeholders have the right information at the right time to do their jobs, including creating awareness of new capabilities and ensuring effective deployment to the field
    • Automate internal and external vision, strategy, and roadmap communication
    • Build and maintain the product roadmap presentation for field teams
    • Build presentations for internal, monthly executive, and quarterly board updates
    • Publish blog posts and give conference talks about your work at Armory
  • Training
    • Manage the onboarding experience that accelerates new Product team members time to productivity
    • Drive content and training to up-level the skills of the product team

Does the following describe you?

  • 5+ years of experience in full product lifecycle management in a high growth technology organization
  • Ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans
  • Top-notch communication and presentation skills, including experience communicating insights through data with senior-level executives and rallying cross-functional teams
  • Aptitude to develop a deep understanding of a complex technical product and its use cases
  • Experience employing a variety of modern product and software development techniques for customer validation
  • Experience with scripting languages to be able to automate and create a highly efficient product tech stack
  • Exceptional data analysis with the ability to find the trends and implications within data to inform sound business decisions
  • Experience working remotely with globally distributed teams

Have these skills, even better!

  • Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD tools, and cloud-native application development
  • Experience building and/or contributing to open-source
  • Experience working remotely with globally distributed teams
