Compensation:
$120,000 - $160,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 7.5% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.
Job Overview:
The Senior Product Manager - Rare Disease will play a primary role in managing the molecular testing services for the Ambry Genetics portfolio. The senior product manager is a key contributor to Ambry’s product strategy, business cases, and portfolio roadmap for new product development targeting clinical testing for genetic disease, specifically rare disease and cardiology. The manager will report to the Senior Director, Product Management and will work cross functionally within Ambry Genetics to ensure alignment of Ambry’s product strategy to the broader product portfolio.
The Product Management organization establishes the full product value proposition and product positioning for all customers. The Product Management organization is also accountable to design outstanding customer experiences and works with partners (e.g., R&D, Market Intelligence, Technical Product Management, Clinical Reporting, and Medical Science Liaisons) to deliver best in class products.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional critical thinking skills and is an energetic, entrepreneurial, expert-level Product leader that has implemented and delivered hands-on product management of advanced NGS diagnostic assays as LDTs or IVDs
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees product roadmaps and end-to-end product lifecycle
- Collects voice of customer feedback and performs market research to uncover customer pain points, customer segmentation and portfolio gaps
- Performs technology/product market & competitive analyses
- Establishes product positioning and messaging
- Synthesizes a coherent product roadmap based on customer input, business goals, and R&D competencies
- Drives coordination and prioritization of features with the tech and R&D organizations
- Is responsible for Product P&L, revenue growth, success of product and product feature launches (product adoption and product experience)
- Partners closely with the commercial teams (marketing and sales) to gain customer insights and execute strategy
- Collaborates with the leadership team and product marketing team to influence the overall objectives and long-range goals for the product, and makes decisions that have significant impact on these objectives and goals
- Works closely with MSL and GSL teams to establish strong working relationships with key customers and key opinion leaders for insights into technology and clinical application trends
- Travel up to 15%
Education and Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, biology, or related field.
- Strong preference for an advanced degree or MBA
Technical Competencies (Skill, Abilities and Capabilities):
- Be able to communicate requirements and negotiate priorities bridging the commercial and software teams
- Possess exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) including the demonstrated ability to influence senior management in key decisions associated with product decisions.
- Embrace a strong UX focus
- Demonstrate strong execution capability in a complex environment managing multiple projects in parallel with various stakeholders.
- Must have strong analytical skills and ability to tie detailed analysis to larger strategy. SQL skills desired.
Experience:
- 6+ years of product management experience
- Must have developed portfolio plans and led teams to execute the successful launch and ramp to volume of multiple products
- Experience in life sciences, the healthcare industry or working with clinical workflows
Other:
- This role works with Personal Health Information (PHI) on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form, and therefore training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training will be required upon hire.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
