ACCEL Schools is seeking an Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) Specialist in Columbus, OH to join its central office state reporting team. State reporting requirements include student, staff, course, calendar, testing, and financial information. Responsibilities:
- Enter and update special education, Limited English Proficiency (LEP), and gifted information into Student Information System (SIS)
- Maintain history records for Effective Date Records
- Extracts district(s’) data from various source systems and prepares data files
- Uploads data files into the Data Collector for EMIS Processing and Submission of data to the state Department of Education
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of data to the state Department of Education, assuring all EMIS deadlines are met
- Investigate and trouble-shoot Level 1 and Level 2 errors as needed
- Communicate errors/problems, etc. to school end-users and assist them to work through correcting their errors
- Maintain staff data for staff reporting in USPS or Flat File Editor, depending on school ITC
- Work in ODDEX to resolve flags and errors
- Complete Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) reporting
- Complete Federal Low Income Count System (FLICS) reporting
- Write EMIS-related documentation as needed for district end-users
- Maintain knowledge of state reporting requirements
- Attend all professional development offered by the district relative to database maintenance
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ohio residence preferred
- Three years’ prior EMIS experience
- Comprehensive EMIS knowledge and Ohio District Data Exchange (ODDEX) proficiency
- Advanced proficiency in data entry and MS Office, including Excel and Word
- Technology competencies and knowledge of software applications (i.e. PowerSchool, SchoolMint, Flat File Editor, USPS, Data Collector, etc.)
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to consistently meet deadlines
- High quality written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
- Ability to work independently and also in a team environment
- Successful completion of state and federal criminal background check

The annual starting salary for this position is 55,000-60,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Paid Time Off: The amount of Paid Time Off (PTO) employees accrue is determined by both their position and the length of their employment term. 19 days of paid time off for 12-month roles.
