Articulate is looking for a Manager, Product Design (Reach/ Review) to join our amazing team.

As Manager, Product Design (Reach/ Review), you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic and executional design direction of our products while supporting a team of highly talented product designers. Your understanding of user-centered design principles and keen eye for detail will guide our product design team in crafting outstanding and cohesive customer experiences. 

Our ideal candidate will be an advocate of design thinking, experienced in Figma, and someone with highly refined taste to drive quality in their product area and consistency within our platform. You are a team leader, and passionate about building a product experience that creates true connection with customers. You can shift context between solving for the larger customer journey and the micro details that make or break a good design. In addition to your love of product design, you have compassion for your team and work diligently to foster a creative culture of collaboration, positivity, innovation, and growth.

Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of product designers, nurturing their skills, and fostering growth 
Take full responsibility of smaller undefined features and/or a whole product, and drive clarity through cohesive, forward-thinking, and industry-competitive design solutions 
Clearly communicate complex concepts to stakeholders representing strategic and user-focused viewpoints 
Estimate work timelines, prioritize efforts across multiple verticals, and drive work forward 
Steer design decision-making to meet the needs of users while also aligning with our business goals, measuring solutions and outcomes against providing customer value
Break down complex projects into simple systems that can be effectively designed and maintained by less experienced designers

What you'll do:

    • Team Management and Mentorship:
    • Provide thoughtful feedback and identify areas for improvement in product design critiques to drive high-quality, iterative, and customer focused design.
    • Support and motivate the team to manage deadlines in collaboration with product and engineering partners to reliably deliver against roadmap goals.
    • Give guidance that unblocks others
    • Scope and define work into milestones and timeframes
    • Design Thinking & Storytelling
    • Lead exploration for solving design problems within your product area
    • Analyze user and stakeholder feedback to identify problems and synthesize new, elegant solutions to solve pain points
    • Use an understanding of our products and assets, the competitive landscape, and our users in product decision-making
    • Participate in interviews with customers to gain new insights and synthesize research into findings for potential product improvements
    • Design Execution
    • Craft efficient user flows, thoughtful wireframes, high-fidelity pixel-perfect designs, prototypes, and pattern documentation leveraging our design system
    • Validate creative ideas through rapid prototyping and user testing
    • Collaboration
    • Collaborate closely with engineering and product tripod members to strategically iterate on and ship new features regularly 
    • Cross team and technical boundaries to solve internal and customer problems
    • Have mastered the art of the stakeholder review; completely own the feedback and design support they require on your projects
    • Lead Design QA with thorough testing of new features, while giving efficient guidance for dev and QA teams

    • Make a significant impact in the process of how design work is done, the operations of the design team, and the overall team culture
    • Assist with finding new design talent and guiding junior-mid level peers

What you should have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or related field
    • Proven track record with 5+ years in product design with 1-2 years experience managing or leading product design teams
    • Understanding of user-centered design principles, UI design principles, and best practices
    • Demonstrated expertise in crafting cohesive, exceptional customer experiences across digital products
    • Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into customer-focused design solutions
    • Leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams and stakeholders
    • Passionate about end-to-end customer experience holistic of product and brand 
    • A compassionate doer who seeks to improve our processes and regularly works to identify areas to maximize team efficiency 
    • Team player, highly self-motivated. Ability to collaborate closely with product managers, product designers, engineers, and copywriters in the tripod model
    • You are resilient, reliable, and optimistic

    • Preferred
    • Previous experience working in a SaaS or software product led company 
    • Familiarity with design systems and their implementation to scale design efforts
    • Knowledge of front-end development technologies and their impact on design decisions
$159,200 - $238,800 a year
The pay range for this position is $159,200 to $238,800 for all US locations. Articulate takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
