About the project & Your team

Agile teams working in 2 weeks sprints, the average size of the team being of 3-4 Software developers, 1-2 QAs, that work close to researchers from all over the world, on different research & development requests.

Job Description

In the Quality Management Chapter you will join a community of colleagues with shared interests and benefit from learning resources & programs, certifications and knowledge sharing sessions. 

The Quality Management Chapter  includes various topics, such as Quality Management (planning, assurance, and control), continuous testing and delivery through manual and automation, as well as functional and non-functional testing. 

Responsibilities

Technical

• Execute both automatic and manual testing activities (% varies depending on the context)
• Execute testing activities, by combining various testing methods, depending on the context and stages of the development process: smoke, exploratory, modules, integration, system, end-to-end etc.
• Perform test processes on software applications in line with the available documentation and create artefacts based on the testing results
• Create, follow, update, review and enforce the QA process and best practices across all stages of the SDLC
• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Configure and operate software tools for managing virtual environments
• Operate and adapt configurations in Continuous Integration pipelines based on project requirements

Collaboration

• Work closely with other colleagues, Product Owners, team managers and clients
• Mentor colleagues that would benefit from your knowledge
• Respect the agreements set up together with the team and clients
• Communicate periodically the progress of work and provide status updates
• Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement

Role requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance 
• Solid understanding of software development principles
• Good understanding OOP concepts and scripting languages (.NET)
• Good experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
• You are familiar with API testing and GUI testing with Cypress, Playwright and APPIUM
• Perform complex system tests 
• Develop and initiate advanced automated testing methodologies 
• Establish and manage testing metrics
• Influence the inclusion of testability during the design and development phases 
• Ensure compliance with quality processes and standards 
• Test cases, regression testing, exploratory, acceptance testing, release planning 
• Working with management tools or tracking software: Azure DevOps 
• Advanced knowledge of the IT industry, terms, trends, approaches, etc.
• Excellent communication skills in English (German would be a plus)
• Detail-oriented personality 
• Creative thinking skills 
• Ability to adjust your strategies and ways of working in accordance with specific contexts
• Team player, being able to collaborate with colleagues and participate in feedback discussions
