Job Description

As a Remote Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will provide occupational therapy services to clients remotely. You will collaborate with licensed occupational therapists to assess and implement appropriate treatment plans, monitor progress, and provide guidance to clients through virtual platforms. Your primary goal will be to help clients achieve their occupational therapy objectives and improve their functional abilities in a remote setting.

Responsibilities:

Conduct initial assessments and evaluations of clients' functional abilities and limitations through virtual platforms.

  • Collect and analyze relevant client information to determine appropriate occupational therapy interventions.
  • Collaboration and Treatment Planning
  • Collaborate with licensed occupational therapists to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and therapist recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Implement Treatment
  • Administer prescribed occupational therapy interventions remotely, following the established treatment plan and goals.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to clients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities to improve functional abilities and daily living skills.
  • Monitor Progress and Adjustments
  • Regularly monitor clients' progress and modify treatment plans based on observed outcomes and changes in clients' needs or conditions.
  • Document client progress, treatment interventions, and other relevant information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide Education and Support
  • Educate clients and their families on proper techniques, exercises, and strategies to enhance rehabilitation and promote functional independence.
  • Offer emotional support and encouragement to clients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Maintain Compliance and Ethics
  • Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards relevant to remote occupational therapy services.
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
  • Telehealth Platform Utilization
  • Familiarize yourself with various telehealth platforms to conduct remote therapy sessions effectively.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during virtual sessions and seek assistance as needed.

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour commensurate with experience and qualifications. 

 

Qualifications

  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • Licensure: Current state licensure as a COTA.
  • Prior experience as a COTA is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and general computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective remote client interactions and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of productivity in a remote work environment.
  • Strong ability to connect with clients, show empathy, and provide emotional support.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to manage caseload efficiently.
