About the role:

Samsara’s Global Recruiting Operations & Programs Team is looking for a Strategic Initiatives Program Manager to help enhance, optimize, and ensure our recruiting programs can efficiently and effectively scale. As we expand to India, we are looking for a program leader who is passionate about finding solutions, creating efficiencies, building and scaling programs, and making things happen.

You will be based in Bengaluru and will come to the office up to 3 days a week, aligned with our in-market hybrid office policy. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about driving change and fostering innovation in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will be instrumental in helping us establish a strong presence in India, and ensuring recruiting program strategy and execution meet business needs. Your strategic insight, project management expertise, and ability to work cross-functionally will be key in enabling our team to meet our ambitious growth objectives.

This role will initially be focused on India talent initiatives. Role responsibilities will grow to include additional global expansion efforts in EMEA.

In this role, you will work on:

  • Recruiting Strategic Initiatives: Lead and manage regional projects/programs designed to establish Samsara’s presence in India and EMEA from inception to completion, ensuring they align with the company's strategic objectives and are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Service Model Design: Support the creation of our global service model design and supporting recruiting solutions, and lead the regional implementation in India and EMEA.
  • Special Projects: Deliver projects that advance our talent attraction and recruiting goals in India and EMEA across several Recruiting Programs including: selection and assessment, top-of-funnel enablement, operations and scale, recruiting enablement, and more.
  • Portfolio Operations: Lead the regional intake and prioritization process for proposed projects across recruiting. Partner with the senior recruiting leadership team and site leadership to facilitate the prioritization of newly requested projects and solutions. Support team-wide portfolio reporting.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8+ years of professional experience which includes 3+ years in Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, or People Operations initiatives focused on people/talent in India.
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience using project management tools (e.g., project charters, project plans, and communication plans).
  • 3+ years of experience driving change and influencing behavior through data and storytelling with both senior executives and team members.
  • Excellent program management and organizational skills, capable of leading multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and partner management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and proficiency in using data to measure success and provide insights.
  • Ability to work from the Bengaluru office up to 3 days per week.
  • Ability to work across global cultures and time zones.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Project Management Professional Certification.
  • Prosci Certified Change Practitioner.
  • Experience demonstrating the following competencies:
    • Business Acumen

      • Leverages extensive knowledge of program management and recruiting to drive key results at the departmental level.
      • Utilizes a comprehensive grasp of industry trends to develop actionable insights and solutions.

      • Independently manages and delivers on complex projects, ensuring meaningful impacts on the recruiting department.
      • Skilled in multitasking, capable of effectively handling 2-3 complex projects simultaneously.
      • Influences team and department priorities through strategic project leadership and accountability.
    • Leadership
      • Drives strategic decision-making and robust communication within the department.
      • Manages high-level stakeholder relationships, ensuring delivery against contractual terms and business objectives.
      • Facilitates team consensus, resolving conflicts and aligning diverse viewpoints to achieve department goals.
    • Functional Expertise
      • Recognized as a go-to resource for in-depth functional knowledge within the organization.
      • Actively mentors and develops team members, enhancing functional expertise across the department.
      • Engages proactively with department leaders to ensure continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Experience with cloud-based collaboration tools like Google Suite, Jira Workforce Management, Applicant Tracking Systems, Candidate Relationship Management, Zoom, Slack.
  • Experience working on initiatives focused on talent/people in EMEA.
