Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for healthcare entities.
- Revenue Cycle Management: Assist in revenue cycle processes, including billing, collections, and reimbursement analysis for healthcare services.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze costs related to healthcare services, supplies, and operations to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support budgeting and forecasting activities for healthcare departments or facilities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accounting standards (such as GAAP), and internal policies and procedures.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, conducting reconciliations, and addressing audit inquiries related to healthcare financials.
- Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning in healthcare organizations.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations for healthcare transactions.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and clinical teams, to provide financial insights and support for healthcare initiatives.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects, process improvements, and initiatives to enhance financial operations and reporting in healthcare settings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with specific experience in healthcare accounting.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement systems, regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid), and financial reporting for healthcare entities.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with large datasets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
