IEM is looking for a Full-Time, Senior Systems /Cloud Architect to join our Digital Service sector.
Primary Location:
- Candidates can originate from anywhere in the United States, you will work remotely from home or personal office location.
- All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 30% of the time, based on business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing organizational computing strategies for customers that incorporates cloud migration from legacy applications, cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring.
- Support for application architecture and deployment in cloud environments.
- Assist with cloud environments such as public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud and assess cloud computing services: infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platforms-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
Current Skills:
- Develop and Coordinate Cloud Architecture: Develop and coordinate cloud architecture across diverse areas including application development, identify and access management, network, and data management and more. Work in coordination with other departments to implement all architecture changes.
- Cloud Migration: Act as an overall architect for cloud migration solution design and delivery from an installer deployment model. Determine how to migrate full legacy monolithic applications to the cloud supporting hybrid virtual machine and cloud native deployments. Map existing legacy components and functionality to cloud specific services.
- Introduce Cloud Adoption: Drives the introduction of the cloud infrastructure within the organization’s computing environment. Support the change and work towards the adoption and ease of use of cloud technologies. Develop new usage patterns and play an active role in the everyday use of cloud services.
- Cloud Strategy and Coordinate Adoption: Provide all necessary assistance in articulating where cloud services fit in best. Establish process to build and assess which applications will access cloud computing. Identify any comprehensive risks and come up with risk mitigation mapping matrixes to avoid them. Develop methodologies to automate cloud services and ensure that any errors will not impact the speed and agility of cloud benefits.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems: Must have a good understanding of operating systems such as Linux, Unix, Solaris, Ubuntu, Windows. Familiar with the concepts, pros, and cons of various operating systems.
- Knowledge of Networking: Proper knowledge of TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, and DNS is an added advantage.
- Security: Have a good command over vital security concepts. Security is considered one of the essential aspects of the cloud and basic knowledge of firewall and other security components is necessary.
- Enterprise Computing: Must be aware of building blocks of IT such as client systems and applications, networking, infrastructure, data centers, programming languages, web tools, and technologies. Must be aware of how to adhere to and utilize existing enterprise components such as Single Sign On (SSO), a shared database, and an Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) server.
- Ideal candidate shall have one or multiple cloud certifications
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
- Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect
- IBM Certified Cloud Solution Architect V2
- Salesforce Certifications
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate Certification
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator in Red Hat OpenStack
- CompTIA Cloud Essentials
- VMWare Certified Professional 6-Data Center Virtualization Exam
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, electronics, or telecommunications.
- 7 to 10 years of experience architecting and implementing cloud computing environments for U.S. Government clients.
- Expert in migration strategies, e.g., rehost, refactor, and rearchitect.
- Experience with containers, including both Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Agile/DevOps/DevSecOps/MLOps
- Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) specifications and standards such as Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA) and DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
- Familiarity with the Strangler architecture pattern.
