Position Summary:

We are recruiting a senior candidate responsible for supporting infrastructure leadership by educating and helping shape thinking and policy about digital advancement. The individual will need to focus on the requirements of digital adoption within the infrastructure sector and promote the long-term benefits of digitizing assets at a country-wide level. This leader will be responsible for driving our engagement with government bodies and infrastructure associations, at all levels and all departments.

This role will build market awareness of Bentley's profile in Canada with key stakeholders from finance, insurance, and associations, as well as executive government departments that are driving and supporting infrastructure advancement.

You will need to be aligned with core programs happening at the national government level and differentiate our leadership in the marketplace from others through evangelization, policy shaping, and relationship building with key decision-makers.

You will leverage your deep knowledge and contacts to influence the market through events, policy forums, and think tanks, working closely with Sales and Account teams – from other specialists to the broader business. As a leader, you will build trusted relationships within organizations and government departments throughout Canada, helping them tackle the challenges around environmental and social problems via the benefits of digital infrastructure advancement.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Take a leadership role within organizations to develop informed opinions around key market issues, producing several whitepapers and leading industry roundtables.
  • Lead Bentley’s relationship with both government departments and non-government organizations to accelerate strategies, such as digital twins and digitization. You will help support and overcome issues around interoperability, poor collaboration, smarter working, and data sharing at a national level.
  • Become an acknowledged, leading influencer in the market with a strong social media and events presence, elevating Bentley’s image and thought leadership.
  • Assess and improve Bentley’s internal understanding of the national government’s function and influence through direct engagement and coaching for more alignment.
  • Coach, guide, and support account teams to identify and nurture future opportunities at early stages, including an internal understanding of any government playbook publications.
  • Coach, guide, and support regional marketing to drive customer engagement, focusing on new and upcoming policy changes.
  • Provide critical insights to Bentley’s C-level executives to shape product offerings and policies, as well as other aspects of Bentley solutions for the sector.
  • Communicate how Bentley technology drives outcomes that the government and associations care about.
  • Frequent travel in Canada is required.

What You Bring to The Team:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in delivering projects at a senior level.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience working with comparable vendors to Bentley, undertaking roles with responsibilities aligned with those outlined above.
  • A proven track record of successful strategic business development in the infrastructure market sector.
  • An industry-leading presence on social platforms, such as LinkedIn.
  • A demonstrable extensive senior infrastructure leaders’ network and contact list.
  • A strong, engaging, and positive can-do attitude, as well as an eye for detail and a resourceful, inquisitive, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent English language and written communication skills, as well as the ability to present information via phone, web, and face-to-face.
  • A drive to be a leading member of sector organizations.
